Turkey cutlets are not only delicious, but they are also a great way to enjoy meat without having to worry about an ample amount of fat and unhealthy dark meat. According to the American Heart Association, turkey is a high-protein meat that does not have as much saturated fat and cholesterol as red meat. Another important thing to consider in terms of turkey cutlets is that it is a fantastic type of meat that can be cooked with the least amount of effort possible. Below is one of the best ways to consider cooking turkey cutlets for not only health but also for taste.
Step 1: Create the Marinade
The most important part to cooking any type of entrée is to make sure that you have a fantastic marinade that will complement the meat and the other sides that you are serving throughout the evening. With the combination of an acidic liquid and oil, you will have a sufficient base prepared. Consider using fruit juice, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, or even wine as your acidic liquid. You will also want to add pepper, salt, ginger, garlic, and honey garlic. Keep in mind that this is all up to personal interpretation so if you have specific spices that you enjoy, use them instead.
Step 2: Prepping the Meat and Oven
First you will want to make sure that you preheat the oven to 400 degrees and ensure that you cut all of the fat off of the cutlets. Once this has been completed you can then submerse the meat into the marinade so that it is prepared for cooking.
Step 3: Cooking the Meat
Once the meat has been submersed in the marinade for approximately 30 minutes, remove it and ensure that the excess liquid drains off. You can then line the cutlets onto a baking tray and put them in the oven for approximately 15 minutes. Depending on the thickness of the cut, you may have to bake them for more or less time. In the most circumstances turkey should reach an internal temperature of 165 F. You can also cut the meat and if the juices are clear, it is ready to be eaten.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
Now that the meat has been cooked sufficiently, you can serve it to your guests with a side of mashed potatoes or grilled vegetables and enjoy a wonderful dinner that was made in less than 1 hour.
